Few experiences could be better than devouring Chicago’s top chef creations and chic cocktails…all for a good cause. On October 17, Meals on Wheels of Chicago is hosting its Indulge Your Heart 20th Annual Celebrity Chef Ball on the seventh floor of Macy’s on State Street. Twenty years ago, Meals on Wheels hosted what became an annual celebrity chef brunch. Since, it has progressed into a dinner gala. Last year, the event raised more than $200,000 to help provide funding to programs that support home-bound senior citizens and people with disabilities allowing them to continue to live independently. This year, Meals on Wheels, along with fifty-sixty top chefs from Chicago and around the country hope to raise more. “There is an auction, raffle, all sorts of activities. And all proceeds go to the local chapter of Meals on Wheels,” informs chef Tony Priolo of Piccolo Sogno, looking forward to his tenth year in attendance. “Giving back to the community is really important. Those with disabilities need our help.”
