3 Liquid Education on Thirsty Thursdays: Sours (Bar Biscay) It started when bar manager Archie Powell opined that a “good way to commit cocktail recipes to memory is to recognize the basic builds of the classics and then see how they’re repeated throughout other recipes in the cocktail lexicon.” It ends on April 11, with a last class devoted to the gimlet, daiquiris and pisco. 4 Threat Level Midnight Party (SafeHouse) All the well cocktails, wine and beer you can drink. Come dressed as your favorite character from “The Office.” (April 12)
5 Mexico in a Bottle (Logan Square Auditorium) The landmark annual event that introduced many Chicagoans to agave distillates and other south-of-the-border spirits, including Mexican rum and whiskey, revealing the rich liquid heritage of our neighbor to the south. (April 28)
